According to MLSsoccer.coms Darrell Lovell, the Dynamo will use the top allocation spot to sign the American national, Beasley. Beasley is currently a free agent, his previous contract with Mexican club Puebla having elapsed. However, were he to make a return to the MLS, he would be subject to the allocation process. The Dynamo were previously 14th in the allocation order, hence their need to trade up in the queue to secure the 32-year-olds services. Beasley just participated in his fourth FIFA World Cup, becoming the first American to appear in four tournaments. He played in all four of the U.S. matches at the tournament.
